How To: Simple UTV Axle & Radius Rod Storage

A simple do it yourself project that takes only a few minutes of your time, and a few bucks spent at your local hardware store.UTV Driver

Learn how to build a water resistant storage container for your spare UTV axles and radius rods. These containers work great to keep your spare axles and radius rods out of harms way. You can also strap them to your UTV for your longer rides.

UTV Radius Rod Storage Container:

You'll need 3 to 4-inch diameter PVC, a threaded / removable cap fitting and a standard cap fitting to complete the radius rod container. You'll also need a tape measure, a saw, PVC glue and rubber gloves.UTV Driver

Measure:

You'll want to measure the length of your radius rods, then add a couple inches for padding.UTV Driver

Cut:

We cut our stock RZR XP radius rod container at 28-inches.UTV Driver

Glue:

Use a decent amount of PVC glue on the two end caps and install. Make sure you remove the threaded portion of the removable end cap before gluing.UTV Driver

Tape:

The PVC glue holds tight for normal storage, but we added a couple layers of duct tape to the caps for transit.UTV Driver

Done:

Let the glue set, then you're ready to load.UTV Driver

UTV Axle Storage Container:

We used 4-inch diameter PVC for our stock RZR XP axle storage container.UTV Driver
Follow the same steps as the radius rod container making sure to measure the length of you axle and adding a couple inches for padding. We cut our stock RZR XP axle container at 32-inches.UTV Driver
