The Expedition Overland team is no stranger to adventure vehicle builds. With two award-winning seasons of travel documentaries free to view on the web, these guys know a thing or two about off-road rigs. Their newest off-road weapon is a Polaris General 1000 XP Deluxe side-by-side designed to reach further into the unknown. Team founder Clay Croft has designed this micro-sized explorer to reach the smallest of trails that their full-size equipment simply cannot.

Dubbed “Curiosity” after the rover NASA dropped on Mars in 2012, the X Overland Polaris General 1000 is set up with a full breadth of adventure gear. Up front you can find a heavy-duty Warn winch, Polaris add-on skid plates, and enough Rigid lighting to turn night into day. The UTV is sprung with Walker Evans Velocity Series suspension and outfitted with upgraded General Grabber tires on Icon true beadlock wheels. A rear rack holds survival equipment, mini Maxtrax, and spare liquids to venture deep into the unknown. Inside they’ve outfitted the vehicle with the factory Rockford Fosgate audio system along with a slew of upgraded overlanding tech. The UHF radio allows the team to communicate with home base, and an upgraded switch panel controls the bolt-on goodies. The factory Polaris Ride Command Package integrates a 7-inch touchscreen in-dash GPS unit that provides GPS navigation, vehicle diagnostics, front and rear cameras, and Bluetooth connectivity.
