Kawasaki has announced two new limited-edition models to its Teryx recreational UTV line. Both the Teryx S LE and Teryx4 S LE receive longer steel A-arms, which increase the width up front by 4 inches and at the rear by 2.4 inches, for an overall vehicle width of more than 62 inches. With extra width comes additional ground clearance of 12.2 inches, enhanced by a high-clearance lower A-arm design up front that incorporates a more pronounced upward curvature.
With additional width also comes the opportunity to increase suspension travel, and Kawasaki did not hold back. Both machines receive Fox 2.0 shocks that offer 10.7 inches of travel up front and 10 inches at the rear. That is more than 2 inches of additional suspension travel when compared to the base-model Teryx. Piggyback reservoirs are standard at all four corners to increase fade resistance and lower internal valve temperatures. The single-chamber gas-charged shocks are compression and preload adjustable for fine-tuning over different terrain.
Wheelbase has also increased on both Teryx S LE machines to 88.2 inches, which should help stability. It also provides a better approach angle when climbing. Kawasaki did all of this without giving up much turning radius.
Of course, a limited-edition UTV would not be an LE without fancy colors and graphics. The Teryx S LE comes in your choice of Candy Lime Green or Candy Persimmon Red for $15,699 MSRP. That is a $2,500 premium over the base Teryx, which we think is a small price to pay for increased handling and stability. The Teryx4 S LE also comes in Candy Lime Green and Candy Persimmon Red for $17,699 MSRP, and is available in Fragment Camo Gray or Realtree Xtra Green Camo for $17,899 MSRP.
