CFMoto Thunder Racing Team Gears Up for a Big Season

First competition at the end of February will help the team gear up for a stab at Dakar.

CFMoto Thunder Racing Team just launched its 2023 Global Rally Raid campaign, with a new team truck, a new rider, and two quads competing for desert racing glory. The Lithuania-based effort built a solid base in 2021 and 2022, with a trophy case full of podium finishes at races like the Balkan Offroad Rallye, Rally Albania, Rallye Breslau, and the Fenix Rally.

The team found success in 2021 and 2022, but is hoping to build on that in 2023.CFMoto

Their goal is to build up to the Dakar Rally competition next year. To that end, they added a third rider to the team in Mindaugas Skudutis, who joins main riders Antanas Kanopkinas and Adomas Gančierius. The goal, Kanopkinas said, is to always have a “bench” rider in case someone falls ill or gets hurt.

The team is also adding a new, reorganized race truck that has tools, spares, work areas, and storage built in. The team’s first 2023 outing will be the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge at the end of February. It’s a big stage, but the newly strengthened team says it’s ready for the fight.
