To get ready for his first crack at King of the Hammers in a trophy truck, Polaris-sponsored desert legend Casey Currie took to the trophy truck course with his dad, uncle, and co-driver in a 2023 Polaris RZR Turbo R, and a couple 2023 Polaris RZR Pro Rs. This wasn’t a full-speed run, more of a line choice and obstacle marking mission, but Currie and company weren’t shy about letting the machines eat.

The verdict was that tire preservation was going to be a challenge over the 240-mile course, but the RZRs were the perfect machines to feel out the desert without doing a full dress rehearsal in a truck. The clip is worth your time just to get inside the thoughts of a fast desert racer ahead of a big event.
The race has come and gone, with Currie ending up 45th after broken parts saw him qualify well down the starting order. Stay tuned for more as he continues his 2023 KOH campaign.
