Kawasaki USA has issued a voluntary recall for certain 2021 Teryx models. The company says the fuel pump retainer plate bolts can come loose causing fuel leakage over time, posing a fire hazard. The current remedy is a trip to your favorite dealership for free repairs. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the recall covers “about 100” units sold in March 2021.
No incidents or injuries have been reported to date, according to the CPSC.
You can find a Teryx vehicle identification number (VIN) on the steel frame between the right-front lower A-arm mounts. The model number is printed on the driver’s side of the hood or on the left and right front fender.
Kawasaki asks that any owners with affected models immediately stop using their vehicles and contact a local dealer to arrange repairs. You can reach Kawasaki toll-free at 866-802-9381 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday with questions or concerns. You can also find recall information through Kawasaki’s website which we will link below.
