John Deere has taken to its XUV835M Gator UTV to pay tribute to military veterans. This special-edition model comes with multiple cab configurations and adds serious kit to the work-minded UTV. Functional and cosmetic upgrades are the headline for the model itself. On the people side of things, John Deere has teamed up with The Save Farm nonprofit to provide support to veterans likely to use this machine for work purposes. Prices start at $18,899.
First, the Gator: John Deere added a slew of items that improve the machine’s functionality and appearance. Most noticeable is the Desert Sand bodywork. It features military-inspired graphics and definitely looks the part. Additional improvements over a standard Gator XUV835M are black wheels with Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires, a black roof, and a brush guard. All Honor Editions get black vinyl 40/60 split-bench seats, a sport steering wheel, and a power-lift cargo box that includes a spray-in bed liner, brake lights, and taillights. Further, open-station models get half doors, and models with HVAC get a Stone headliner.
To sweeten the deal and increase the attractiveness of the Honor Edition for non-military folk, John Deere has teamed up with The Save Farm. “John Deere has a long history of supporting the military and our veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect this country,” said Maureen McCormack, marketing manager of Gator Utility Vehicles. “We are proud to honor these brave individuals through our new special edition Gator Utility Vehicle while supporting organizations like The Save Farm.” This is a good-cause, feel-good organization that provides training and healing programs for service members, veterans, and their families in the farming, ranching, and agribusiness fields.
If you’re a military veteran or seek to honor service members, this is the rig for you. Those interested in the 2022 John Deere Gator XUV835M Honor Edition can visit the John Deere website for more information.
