Inexpensive, deep bench of available accessories and options, 80 hp from a true 1,000cc-class engine, looks to match more expensive competition, room for six thanks to front and rear three-across bench seats. It also comes with full skid plates and a roof.
Parts and maintenance support will lag more established competitors, cost savings usually mean cheaper materials and fewer name-brand parts.
The 2022 CFMoto UForce 1000 XL is a stout, capacious utility rig that comes in thousands of dollars under the name-brand competitors. It looks like the more expensive machinery, and makes as much horsepower. With a deep roster of extras, the UForce 1000 XL is a fantastic bargain option if you don’t want to spend new-pickup money on your UTV.
The CFMoto UForce 1000 XL slots neatly into the same niche as the Can-Am Defenders and Polaris Rangers of the world, blending pure utilitarian grunt with premium-looking paint and a bit more comfort than you’d expect from something designed exclusively for the job site.
But just because it has softened edges when compared to a dedicated work rig, that doesn’t mean it can’t hang. The UForce 1000 XL is rated to carry 1,000 pounds in its cargo bed and tow a full ton via the standard 2-inch hitch receiver.
The UForce 1000 XL is a new model for 2022, bringing six seats, a premium steering wheel, work and normal mode, and a 5-inch TFT display.

Unless you get into the accessories catalog, the UForce 1000 XL’s only options are color choices. We’d save $500 and opt for either blue or silver, but that’s just a matter of personal preference.
The UForce 1000 XL is powered by a 963cc V-twin that makes 79 hp and 60 pound-feet of torque. It breathes through a Bosch EFI system controlled by a drive-by-wire system instead of an old-school throttle cable.
The engine feeds CFMoto’s CVTech continuously variable automatic, with park, reverse, neutral, high, and low gears. The transmission sends twist through a selectable transfer case. The UForce has a selectable locking front differential.
Arched gullwing A-arms are the visual highlights of the suspension system. Beyond that, you get no-name oil-damped coilovers.
The UForce 1000 uses hydraulic discs at all four corners.
With three-across seating, the UForce 1000 XL has enough room for six adults, provided they’re OK with being pretty cozy. Especially for a rig at this price point, the inside is well-appointed, with a 5-inch TFT display and electric power steering.
The UForce 1000 XL delivers a 1,000-pound payload capacity and a 2,000-pound towing capacity.
The TFT dash, Bosch EFI, and electric power steering are it for the standard rig.
CFMotos come with a 30-day warranty.
