Garmin displayed a new GPS unit, the Tread Series, aimed specifically at the side-by-side market at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. The new portable GPS line has applications for UTVs and overlanders.

The SxS Edition comes with an 8-inch screen that is IP67 rated for water resistance and has Garmin’s Group Ride Radio built in. It can track up to 20 riders, and inReach technology is available through subscription. The Tread Series features turn-by-turn navigation, and a phone app makes planning routes in advance easier. The GPS also has a locking mechanism to keep it from moving around. Those features, as well as the topographic maps and iOverlander compatibility, make it especially appealing for UTVers and overlanders. The Tread also is compatible with Garmin’s dog tracker, so you can bring your pup on the trail worry-free.

The Tread SxS Edition costs $1,499 and comes with the GPS, a fist mic, antenna and mounting kit, multiple mounts, a power cable, and a USB-C cable. Check out Garmin’s website to learn more.
