American Landmaster has joined the electric UTV fray with two-seater and four-seater utility rigs that Landmaster says will tow 1,200 pounds, carry 700 pounds in the bed, and hit 30 mph. And they retail for just $12,799 to start for the two-door, and $15,499 for the four-door. The downsides are relatively limited range, and that for now neither rig is available in 4WD.
That will limit the rig’s capability for a lot of buyers, but the starting price is $900 shy of Polaris’ Ranger EV. The coming 2023 Polaris Ranger XP Kinetic is in another league both by price and capability, so we’ll leave that comparison alone.
The Landmaster is available with either a 105AH lithium-ion battery, which they say is good for 45 miles, or a 160AH unit that bumps that to 65 miles. The rigs have two drive modes: Max Range, which allows the full quoted mileage out of a battery pack, or Max Speed, which gives you, uh, max speed.
Check out Landmaster’s offerings here. There are myriad ways to configure the rigs, so there should be a trim level to suit most needs and budgets.
