Fox Racing Shox Shuffles Factory Locations

Fox Racing has announced plans to move its manufacturing away from the West Coast. In what is being called a strategic business decision, Fox said its Watsonville, California, production plant will go dark during the first quarter of 2022 when the lease is up. Current plans are for the location to continue to house a corporate office but no manufacturing roles will be retained.

Fox is known for its premium off-road suspension components, including smart systems like Live Valve. Its products can be found on several vehicles straight from manufacturers, such as Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

The first round of layoffs will take effect as soon as October 31, 2021, for non-critical roles. Fox announced it plans to assist with transitioning any employees who choose to relocate to the new Georgia location. Any employees who remain will be terminated by March 31, 2022.

Fox Racing Shox completed construction on a new Gainesville, Georgia, manufacturing facility in 2020. It plans to make Hall County, Georgia, the new corporate headquarters and center for manufacturing. Fox will share the southeast region with several UTV manufacturers, including the US division of Yamaha Motorsports in Georgia and Honda Powersports in South Carolina.

Fox also plans to shuffle several other internal groups from its Watsonville and Scotts Valley, California, facilities to the already operating facility in Sparks, Nevada.
