Kubota Recalls 19,500 2018–2022 Sidekicks for Steering Failure

The company says the steering shaft could shear and cause a crash.

Kubota has issued a recall for 19,500 2018–2022 Kubota RTV-XG850 Sidekicks for a potential steering shaft failure, according to Motor Sports NewsWire. According to the recall notice, the steering shaft could break at or near the electric power steering box and cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The affected vehicles’ serial numbers will be in the following ranges: 10001-50018, X0001-X0139, and Y0001-Y1312.

Kubota says it has received five reports globally of steering shaft failure, but no injuries or deaths have been reported. Kubota says owners of affected Sidekicks should immediately stop using their machines, and contact their Kubota dealer, or go to kubotausa.com/contact/form to reach out to the manufacturer directly. Kubota says it will contact all known buyers of affected Sidekicks.
