A new off-road center, Lone Star Off Road Park, has opened in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in north Texas, giving locals somewhere to use their 4x4s without traveling two or more hours to the next nearest site. Park owner Ken Schaumburg was tired of driving hours to take his Jeep off-road, so he solved the problem by opening a park in his hometown.

Off-roading has never been more accessible for north Texas residents, as the park is located right in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.Lone Star Off Road Park

Access is only $20 for a day pass for anyone 14 and older, and kids under 14 get in free. The park offers 15 miles of trails on 150 acres and is open Wednesday through Sunday, dawn to dusk. Lone Star Off Road Park does not yet offer camping. For more information and directions to the park, visit its website at lonestaroffroadpark.com.
