Polaris Ride Command is a handy tool that allows Polaris riders to view more than 1 million miles of verified trails. Not only is it a built-in GPS that virtually eliminates the chance of getting lost, but it is able to connect to other vehicles that have Ride Command, allowing you to keep track of everyone in your party at all times.
With the success of Ride Command, Polaris has decided to expand on its capabilities, offering a new wave of updates and features through a service called Ride Command+.
Ride Command+ will have a Vehicle Health Feature, which provides continuous engine diagnostic reports and fuel/charge levels to determine how trail-ready the vehicle is. You will be able to check the information provided by Ride Command+ through the Polaris mobile app, through Polaris’ website, or directly through the vehicle’s electronic display. Activating Ride Command+ is as easy as downloading the app and connecting to the vehicle.
Polaris also says that Ride Command+ will feature over-the-air updates, which will automatically install updates to a Ride Command+ vehicle without the owner having to take it to a dealer or even wait for the update to install. Down the line, Polaris will add bump alerts, which when turned on will notify the user if their vehicle has been bumped or moved; a vehicle locator that will provide periodic updates on the vehicle’s location if it has been moved; and Ride Tracking+, which will provide GPS tracking without using the vehicle owner’s mobile-phone data. Ride Tracking+ will also give a detailed review of your ride, including time logged, miles traveled, waypoints, and elevation changes.
Ride Command+ will come standard on all 2023 Ranger XP Kinetic and 2023 Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar Trail Boss Edition models. It is also available as an add-on for the 2023 models of the Ranger 1000, Ranger XP 1000, Ranger 570, Sportsman 570, Sportsman 450, Sportsman 850, and Sportsman XP 1000. Polaris plans to later expand vehicle compatibility, including to past models.
As for pricing of the service, the first 36 months of Ride Command+ will be free on rigs that come with the service. If you add Ride Command+ to a new vehicle that doesn’t offer it standard, then it will be free for the first 12 months. After the initial trial period of either 12 or 36 months, the service will be $99 per year.
