Speed UTV co-founder Todd Romano says the company is within a couple weeks of getting UTVs delivered to customers. After years in the making, and delays on delays on delays, the company, figureheaded by legendary racer and race car builder Robby Gordon, has finished a number of customer rigs. According to Romano, who dropped the video just after Thanksgiving, the completed units are in the final stages of production, which involves adding options and accessories.
The presentation shows pictures of completed machines, as well as a bunch of machines in progress on the assembly line. The time frame for getting the orders sent to customers is still a few weeks longer than their last estimate of a few weeks, though. Romano says in the video that the latest delay was related to receiving inferior parts in a shipment of axles, which required the firm to shut down production while the issue was resolved.
With any luck, in the time since the video was published, the issues have been worked out, and the completed rigs have been lined up for delivery. It’d be an excellent holiday gift for Speed UTVs to start showing up in customers’ garages. We’ll keep you posted.
