Hunter and Cody Miller are no strangers whatsoever to victory at King of the Hammers, the toughest one-day race on Earth. They each have snagged wins in the UTV class piloting Can-Am Mavericks, but for the last three years they have gone past the limit of what was previously thought sane by competing in the 4400 Unlimited class alongside 800 and 900 hp, purpose-built desert racers.

This year, they repeated the feat, and Can-Am had a video crew along to follow their charge to put 200 hp Can-Am UTVs on the same rostrum as million-dollar race rigs backed by massive teams. It sounds like lunacy—and to be fair, it is—but Can-Am has so dominated the world of UTV racing that it needed to raise the bar. This raised it to Olympic pole vault heights. And the Millers aimed to vault it with no pole.

Without careful spotting, you might as well not even show up to King of the Hammers. Here, the Can-Am boys pick their way through a boulder field that looks like the surface of another planet.Can-Am

We’ve previously covered Can-Am’s road to another 1-2-3 at King of the Hammers this year with Kyle Chaney. We’ve also covered Molly Taylor’s rise to UTV racing fame from the Australian rally circuit. Now, Can-Am has unleashed the gnarliest chapter in the saga. Grab the popcorn and sit back, it’s a wild ride.
