Throwing up massive roost on flowing trails is the 2022 Polaris RZR Turbo R’s bread and butter. Polaris The new Wide Open range from Polaris has dropped, and to say it was worth the wait is a pale understatement. The 2022 Polaris RZR Turbo R is the direct replacement for Polaris’ outgoing Turbo S, the model that dropped in 2016 and made everything else seem weak by comparison.
This year, Polaris is doing it again, with two models that could each rightfully top any manufacturer’s lineup. The Turbo R slots in below the insane 225 hp, 30-inch-travel RZR Pro R, with 181 hp, 28 inches of suspension travel and an all-new platform. The horsepower and capability wars just escalated to a nuclear arms race.
With 28 inches of suspension travel underneath it, the Turbo R should be able to crawl over just about anything. Polaris The 2022 RZR Turbo R is available in three trims and two- or four-door configurations. Polaris These lucky test drivers are getting an early look at how well the RZR Turbo R handles whooped-out desert sections at speed. We feel like it’s safe to assume there was little drama. Polaris Just how much is 27 inches of suspension travel? A lot. That’s how much. Polaris The four-door Turbo Rs come in just shy of $30K before you start stacking on options. Polaris The Turbo R gets a set of handsome, 15-inch five-lug alloy wheels wrapped with 32-inch tires. We hope this means the days of 14-inch rims wrapped with 27-inch staggered tires are nearly behind us. Polaris Get used to this mug. We expect it will become ubiquitous at off-road parks around the country. Polaris The Turbo R is slated to hit dealers in spring, so start socking away pennies now.
