There are good days off-road, there are tough days off-road, and then there are absolute gong shows. This 4WD 24/7 adventure through Coffs Harbor is squarely the latter. The 4WD 24/7 crew was in Coffs to pit two rad budget 4x4s against each other in a series of challenges. It was going to be tough sledding either way, but then the weather decided to come to the party after a heavy pregame.
Jock is behind the wheel of a mid-’90s Land Rover Discovery, while Jesse is wheeling the crew’s Suzuki Samurai. The competition is tight at the beginning of the video, and each guy adds a quick upgrade before heading out onto the trails. Jesse throws in a locker, Jock adds some much-needed lighting to the front of the big Disco.
As the competition tightens, the heavens open. After some slick climbs, a broken 70-Series Land Cruiser, and a sodden campout, the weather forces the team to bail on the harder tracks and head for pavement via the access road. The only catch is that the area has absorbed the best part of 10 inches of rain, and even the access road is a serious mission. There are more breakages, some absolutely epic moments, and more than enough pucker for two adventures. Check out the video to get the full story.
