American Outdoor Events is launching a new series of UTV enthusiast-focused “takeover” events at off-road parks around the country. AOE made its bones on racing series, but the takeovers are aimed at getting amateurs in the same place at the same time to hang out and make memories and friends.
The events will feature a bunch of grassroots-style motorsports events, from barrel racing to drag races to wheelie contests. But there will also be guided tours and group rides for those who aren’t interested in testing their limits or pushing a machine to its limit. It sounds like AOE has designed a series of UTV festivals that bring together like-minded people to combine their shenanigans. That sounds pretty excellent to us.
So far, there are three AOE takeovers planned. The first will be from May 4 to May 6 at Little Sahara State Park in Waynoka, Oklahoma, followed by June 14–June 18 at Visions Off-Road at MidAmerica Outdoors in Jay, Oklahoma. They’ll round out the year October 24–October 28 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, during the Ultra4 National finals.
