Can-Am Announces Sponsorship of Two PBR Teams

Can-Am is aiming to rope (see what I did there?) even more business in the Lone Star State by sponsoring two teams on the Professional Bull Riders circuit. The Canadian brand has offices all over Texas, and last week announced financial support and a Can-Am Defender for the Austin Gamblers and the Ariat Texas Rattlers.

Can-Am is on the ground early, as the PBR Camping World Teams Series is new for 2024. The concept is simple as can be: Instead of sticking with the sport’s individual format, riders are grouped in teams of five to go for team accolades. There are 12 events this year, culminating in a championship in Las Vegas in October.

According to PBR, the teams compete in five-on-five bull riding “games” at each of the 12 events. PBR is already massively popular, but the bet here seems to be to expand its appeal by adding a competitive dimension. Keep an eye out for the new series, and for the Texas teams’ Can-Ams running around in the background.
