Josh Row took home the UTV overall and UTV Open class wins in his Can-Am Maverick R at the 2024 Vegas to Reno. This was the first year the Maverick R competed in the race. In addition to Row’s win, Maverick Rs locked out the UTV Pro Turbo class podium. Joe Terrana won Pro Turbo, followed by Cody Miller in second and Dan Fisher in third.
The Maverick R has built an impressive résumé in Best in the Desert competition, taking its maiden victory last September at the Silver State 300 with Dustin Jones at the wheel. Jones then won the Best in the Desert Shock Therapy UTV Legends race in November. To kick off 2024, Maverick Rs took wins in four of the five UTV classes and the UTV overall win at the April running of the Silver State 300.
Row started the 550-mile Vegas to Reno run in 16th, but maintained a steady pace and avoided major issues. Despite one flat tire, Row finished the race in 9:28:11. Terrana followed at 9:29:59. The Best in the Desert season wraps in mid-October at the Laughlin Desert Classic. After that, the Maverick R will make its debut on the world stage at the 2025 Dakar Rally.
