Donut Media has changed a lot in the last three months or so, and not necessarily in ways we like. The classic hosts are almost all gone, but some of their better series are still going. In their latest clip, the Donut crew drive and rate every Ford Bronco ever made, from the 1960s original through today’s throwback.
If you can get past the kitschy video game aesthetic and the hosts’ semi-knowledgeable babble, it’s pretty interesting to see the lineup evolve in real time. Don’t expect a deep dive on the history of the nameplate, or how and why Ford kept making the Bronco for so long, or what brought about its revival, or anything of any real substance, but the driving impressions are interesting.
As the Bronco generations progress, the ratings get lower and lower, with a slight uptick at the end for the mid-1990s era Bronco, that just outscores its late-1980s predecessor. Shocking no one, the brand-new Bronco returns to high marks, but the crew decides it cannot be compared to the old Broncos because it’s a “completely different car.” Well, yes. That will happen when you have 30 years of evolution.
We aren’t sure we learned anything here, but if you need a 30-minute break from whatever you’re doing, go give the Broncos-through-time extravaganza a watch.
