Landmaster CEO Jeremy Gayed said, “Thanks to the exceptionally fast work of the Landmaster team willing to come in and work on a Saturday when the plant is closed, four of our UTVs were able to make it safely to the airport in Boone, North Carolina. It’s a joy and an honor to work alongside people who take such joy in helping others.”
The company’s vehicles reached Boone on a National Guard Chinook helicopter. They’ll be deployed to hard-hit areas where road access is still limited and will help deliver food, medical supplies, and other gear. Some of the roads in the region could remain impassible for months, especially the heavily trafficked sections of interstate that connect North Carolina with its neighbors.
The response to Hurricane Helene has been impressive, as people from across the country have pitched in to help. Beyond spending their time in the cleanup efforts, some have volunteered their vehicles, including helicopters and watercraft, to help. Four UTVs might not sound like much, but they can be a lifeline for people still isolated from the massively damaging storm.
