Hurricane Helene dumped an incredible amount of rain and dropped unimaginable devastation across the Southeast, leading many people to ask the best ways to help those affected by the storm. The Polaris Foundation is stepping up with five Ranger XD 1500 UTVs, which it sent to bolster the Salvation Army’s Rescue and Relief Fleet.
The fleet works in five states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The teams use Rangers to reach remote areas hauling supplies, medical gear, and food. Although this storm is notable, Polaris has donated vehicles to the Salvation Army for more than 10 years. The Polaris Foundation’s philosophy states, “Serving our local communities is a foundational component of the Polaris Geared for Good mindset. Whether through vehicle or supply donations or volunteering, our employees, and the broader Polaris family, including our nationwide dealer network, has a long history of taking action.”
The company didn’t stop with Ranger UTVs. It also sent over “200 generators, 200 quarts of oil, and several other supplies” to North Carolina. Others supported the efforts, including SpaceX, NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, and a local car dealer partner. Sloan’s Motorcycle-ATV in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, near Nashville sent donations of food, money, and water, and said its employees would join a convoy of over 230 vehicles traveling to North Carolina to assist.
