The Polaris General 4 1000 builds on the standard General with two extra seats, but it retains the 100 hp engine, capable suspension, and compact width that made the two-seat model so popular. The Polaris team recently published a YouTube walkaround video of the UTV, so let’s dive in to see what’s what.

Polaris revived the four-seat model for 2025, breathing some life into one of the brand’s oldest nameplates. It features some of the Ranger’s great utility features, including an assisted dump bed, and its more than a foot of suspension travel makes it excellent for rough trails.

The General 4 1000 has Fox Shocks but relies on tiny 24-inch tires. Full doors are there to keep the tire spray out of the cabin.

Inside, the front seats can accommodate tall passengers, and Polaris fits grab handles for easier entry/exit and a more secure ride. The seatbelts also feature a small adjustment point that are supposed to allow a more comfortable fit for almost anyone. A 2-inch hitch receiver makes towing easy, and the 600-pound bed makes the General 4 1000 a solid, if aged, rig.
