Polaris recently initiated a pair of recalls that impact some of its most popular models. The Ranger, Pro XD, and Bobcat are being recalled for an injury hazard, and the RZR XP 1000 is being pulled back for a fire hazard.

Around 2,500 Ranger, Pro XD, and Bobcat vehicles are involved in the action, which is due to a problem with a passenger-side seatbelt anchor that can detach from the frame, posing an injury risk. The recall impacts certain VINs, but all vehicles are from the 2024 model year.

Polaris is also clawing back around 21,000 2024–2025 RZR XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 UTVs, 1,300 of which were sold in Canada. In some vehicles, the positive terminal “can become damaged by the seat base, causing the positive battery post to be exposed and contact nearby conductive components.” The issue could cause an electrical short, increasing the fire risk.

In both cases, Polaris will inspect the vehicle and perform a repair for free if the suspected problems persist. Ranger, Pro XD, and Bobcat owners are advised to stop carrying passengers if their vehicle is impacted by the recall. A Polaris dealer will inspect the seatbelt and repair or replace the component if necessary. RZR XP 1000 owners will receive similar treatment, and the company said it would provide a full battery cover for home or professional installation.
