2025 Ram REV Has 650 Horsepower and 500 Miles of EV Range

The electric pickup can tow 14,000 pounds and does 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

RAM’s first electric pickup looks promising.RAM

Ram unveiled the production version of its upcoming 2025 Ram 1500 REV at the 2023 New York International Auto Show. The company has been teasing the all-electric pickup for some time already, and is showing off the final form of the truck that will compete with Ford’s F-150 Lightning and the soon-to-be-released 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. Our initial impression is that Ram brought the goods with the REV: The battery-electric pickup should be capable of towing 14,000 pounds, hauling 2,700 pounds, running from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and traveling more than 500 miles on a single charge.

We’re not saying the electric REV is going to be a fantastic tow rig, as our testing found that EV range does suffer when pulling a trailer, but it’s a step into the future, especially on the charging front. While EV infrastructure l stilhas a long way to go, the REV can handle 350 kW charging, which allows it to add 110 miles of range in about 10 minutes when using a 800-volt DC fast charger. You get that capability with both the standard 168 kWh battery pack (which has up to 350 miles of range) and the optional 229 kWh battery pack (which Ram says has up to 500 miles of range). Even with all that battery power, Ram claims the REV is capable of fording up to 24 inches of water.

While the 2025 Ram REV looks familiar on the outside, underneath is the new STLA body-on-frame platform, which is designed specifically for the company’s full-size electric vehicles. The REV has a frunk like other EV pickups; it also has a class-leading 15 cubic feet of storage plus the class-exclusive option of RamBox bedside storage compartments. The truck is available with the Uconnect 5 system with a 14.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch passenger screen, as well as Hands-Free Active Driving Assist. Buyers can select a full-color head-up display, and the tailgate is powered both up and down. Also new for the REV is the top-level Tungsten trim, which has a 23-speaker Klipsch audio system and unique interior styling. There’s a lot to like here, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the 2025 Ram 1500 REV once it hits the streets.
