In case you forgot, Segway has only been in the powersports game for five years. The brand once most famous for being the favorite pursuit vehicle for mall cops introduced the Villain and UT10 in 2019. Since then, Segway’s been in the challenging position of having a back-end dealer network, unit delivery, and support infrastructure that continues to play catchup to growing brand recognition thanks to launches like the Super Villain SX20T hybrid and builds like the UTV Source “Creamsicle” at S4.
A new hire will help bridge the gap, Segway hiring Jason Pecsok to be sales operation manager. In the company’s latest Beyond the Brand episode, Pecsok talks about his progression from amateur motocrosser to 16 years in the powersports industry. His work history includes everything from parts department employee to regional sales manager for other hungry manufacturers. Between those two, he has done stints at brands like Fox Racing, distributors like Tucker Powersports, and most recently, Segway competitor Hisun USA.
He says his job at Segway is “to make it easy” for dealers. Getting that mission accomplished will make it easier for us as well. Dealers have got to be tired of hearing, “What’s up with the Super Villain?” and we can’t wait to stop asking.
