There are silly product names, and then there’s this: the Firminator. Shock Therapy Suspension recently launched the new product, which it said functions as an “Oh s—t” button that instantly firms up electronic suspension when pressed.
The system lets users tighten the suspension for five seconds and will remain active if the button is held down. It features an LED indicator light when active, and Shock Therapy said that using the Firminator won’t cause check engine lights or other diagnostic codes. The US-built product is constructed with TXL wire and has a Mil-Spec harness that the company said increases longevity and reliability.
Installation should be pretty straightforward, as the system operates independently of the factory ECU. That means it won’t require modifications to the electronic systems, and the design should help prevent unintentional damage during the installation. That said, the company’s short how-to video shows that you’ll need at least a cursory understanding of what’s going on under the hood.
Shock Therapy charges $850 for the Firminator, and the order books are now open. That said, it’s compatible with only a handful of side-by-sides that have electronic suspension. The list includes the Can-Am Maverick R with Smart-Shox, the Kawasaki KRX with ES Live Valve shocks, the Honda Talon with Live Valve shocks, the Polaris RZR Turbo S with Dynamix Live Valve shocks, and the Polaris RZR XP Turbo with Dynamix Live Valve shocks.
