South Racing has been building top-of-the-line racing vehicles since 2013, and until now, its main platform has been the Can-Am Maverick X3. In the X3, South Racing has notched six consecutive Dakar wins and six World Cups. The team is building a reputation as one of the best in the world, and its participation in the Arrive and Drive and Can-Am Next programs is building the future of off-road racers.
With the release of the Maverick R, it was only a matter of time before South Racing moved on from the X3 and got its hands on the 240-hp monster. That time has arrived, as South Racing has just unveiled its FIA-spec Maverick R, which will be racing in the Morocco Desert Challenge this week.
But the Morocco Desert Challenge is nowhere near where South Racing will stop. With an FIA-spec Maverick R, the team will have their eyes set on the Dakar Rally. Next year’s Dakar might just feature a full team of South Racing Maverick Rs. Until then, South Racing will be participating in dozens of races in the Maverick R to prepare for the Dakar.
