Deeply troubled electric UTV maker Volcon showed a bright spark this month, announcing it has secured a deal to distribute its HF1 electric utility UTV in the United Kingdom and Europe. The HF1 is Volcon’s latest stab at the UTV market, after financial woes caused the company to bag its long-promised Stag performance EV.
The HF1 is a scaled-back entry into the powersports market, but it looks like a machine that will be cheaper and easier to produce than the Stag. That should allow Volcon to sell the HF1 at a more competitive price than the Stag. The last time anyone said anything about Stag pricing, it was on the wrong side of $60,000 for a machine that appeared to be mostly devoid of creature comforts.
According to Motor Sports NewsWire, Volcon is still in the process of getting the HF1 certified for sale in the UK and Europe, so don’t expect a huge number of exports just yet. As ever, we’ll withhold final judgment till we see anything concrete.
