Last week, Robby Gordon let slip that the two-seat 2023 Speed UTV Bandit will be available with a “rally” package, a lowered UTV that sits on NASCAR slicks with a top speed north of 110 mph. This week, Gordon dropped a live video on YouTube showing a production Bandit in the flesh. This was a standard Bandit on off-road suspension and tires, but the rig looked like a complete, production-ready machine.
It definitely takes its styling cues from the rest of the Speed UTV lineup, which is an excellent thing. The snub-nosed, purposeful front end looks right at home on a long-travel desert shredder. It’s hard to get a great read on interior quality from a phone video, but from what we can see, ergos and fit and finish look excellent.
The machine in the video has clearly covered some testing miles, with dirt on the suspension components and worn tires. The suspension is seriously beefy stuff, with massive boxed rear control arms reminiscent of the Polaris RZR Pro R, and front shocks mounted to the tubular lower control arms.
As Speed UTV starts shipping the Diablo and El Jefe models this month and next, we’ll keep an eye out for more news about the Bandit.
