UTV Driver at Portsmouth Island Gallery

All the photos from our time at Portsmouth Island.

Last month, we spent three days camping on Portsmouth Island, a deserted strip of sand a few miles off the coast of North Carolina that can only be accessed via ferry. We decided to bring with us three of the top utility side-by-sides, the Polaris XD 1500, the Kawasaki Ridge, and the Polaris Xpedition, to see how bad living out of a side-by-side for three days can be. Here are all of the photos from our time fishing on the island.

If you want to spend any time on the island, make sure that you bring enough supplies. There is one bathroom and a few showers on the island, but no other amenities.Jackson Cooper

The constant sun was brutal, but that wasn’t going to stop us from having a great time.Jackson Cooper
If you want to drive around the island, make sure to bring reserve fuel. Driving in sand causes your vehicle’s fuel economy to take a huge dip and there is nowhere to refuel on the island.Jackson Cooper
With accessory attach points in the bed that make fantastic rod holders, the Kawasaki Ridge stood out as the choice fishing rig.Jackson Cooper
