This newest breed of monstrous, long travel, big HP UTV’s is growing with authority. The latest 1000cc versions like the Polaris XP 1000, Can Am Maverick, and the Arctic Cat Wildcat are taking over the desert’s, off road courses, and sand dunes. As size, wheel travel, HP, and ground clearance has grown rapidly over the past few years, so has the tire size. A few years back, a tire in the 28-30″ range would only be found mud bogging or riding the swamps in the south. Those days are no more, machines like the XP 1000 are coming stock with 29″s and there are many options for desert or off road type tires in these sizes.
