We all know that the 2024 Can-Am Maverick R can shred through the desert like no other, but how does it fair on the East Coast? We take the 240-hp side-by-side to Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee to find out if it performs well on the rocks or if it should stick to wide-open sand tracks.

Everyone has seen the videos of the 2024 Can-Am Maverick R ripping through the desert at 100 MPH, and there is no denying that the sand is where the 240-hp beast is most comfortable. But does that mean East Coast side-by-side drivers are out of luck? Will the big Can-Am perform as well as the purpose-built rock-crawlers, or should it stay out west where it is comfortable?
To find out how capable the Maverick R is climbing up rock steps, we took a trip to Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. After three days of straight rain, the ruts were deep and the rocks were slick. The Maverick R will need all of its might to get through one of Windrock’s most famous trails. Check out the video below to see how well the Maverick performs.
