Sara Price has had an enviable racing career by any standard. From feeder series for IndyCar to Hollywood stunt work, a national motocross championship, and wins at a Murderer’s Row of off-road races, she was running out of things to prove. But she had yet to conquer the Dakar Rally, a 14-day epic through the wilds of Saudi Arabia.
The race started in Africa in the late ’70s, and since then it has killed 80 people, including the guy who founded the rally. The stories around the race all sound like tall tales, but it’s such a wild and unforgiving undertaking that most of the tall tales are true. The race is so gnarly that the original finishers called themselves survivors.
Price wanted to be one of those survivors. So for 2024 she poured all of her resources and savings into running a Can-Am Maverick X3 at the Dakar. In the end, she made history, but the desert didn’t let her off easy. Head over to our YouTube channel for the full story.
