Our Favorite Utility Side-by-Sides

Manufacturers sell more utility side-by-sides than machines in any other segment. It makes sense: These days ute rigs are more than bare-bones workhorses. They boast all sorts of creature comforts, can be optioned up with excellent suspension, and can be as much fun on the trail as they are useful around the farm. We spent plenty of time behind the wheel of those UTVs this year, and Executive Editor Aaron Richardson and I recently sat down to talk about our favorites.

Polaris is the elephant in the room these days thanks to the introduction of the three-quarter-ton Ranger XD 1500, but there are excellent vehicles to be found from just about every manufacturer depending on your needs and budget. Whether you need a full-cab side-by-side with heat, air conditioning, and heated seats, or a bare-bones Mule ready to work until the heat death of the universe, there’s a rig out there with your name on it.
