Is the Kawasaki Ridge the New King of Utility?

The Polaris Ranger has been the one utility side-by-side to rule them all for decades. The company will proudly tell anyone who will listen that their workhorse is the best-selling UTV of all time. But the reigning king has new competition in the form of the fresh 2024 Kawasaki Ridge. Both vehicles share payload and towing capacities. Both can be optioned up with HVAC, a stereo, navigation, and more. But the Kawasaki comes with more horsepower thanks to its inline four-cylinder engine, and the machine is backed up by an industry-leading three-year warranty.

Of course, those things come at a price premium. The Ridge is more expensive across the board than the Ranger. In a fight this close, the machine that comes out on top often comes down to details, which is exactly what we found when we took the two machines to our Virginia hobby farm.
